This sail was used exclusively by Pearse at Bigsurf, and a number of our customers who wanted to try the compact sail system for themselves…and most of those since ordered new compact sails after having used this one, so much so that they were impressed!
The RRD compact rigs (and foiling) are the best thing to have happened windsurfing in the past 15 years. It makes windsurfing so much easier to facilitate every time you go to the beach.

This USED RRD Compact Vogue 5.3m is suitable for beginners through to expert riders. The compact range makes windsurfing easy to transport, store, and setup, with little loss of performance.
This USED RRD Compact Vogue 5.3m is RRD’s key wave model in the compact range. In our experience it is also fantastic for foiling, freeride, and even some freestyle use.
Being a compact model makes it easy for all riders to store and transport with ease.
For beginners, it is strong, easy to rig, easy to tune, and will perform for you over the years to come as you improve. Lots of performance available, which is easily accessed.
For experienced riders, RRD’s top riders have given these the thumbs up. In our experience, there is only a tiny drop in performance, barely noticeable in fact…unless you windsurf horribly overpowered most of the time, as only then you’ll notice the difference. When used with the compact rig, the only noticeable difference is the boom and mast are a touch heavier, so the rig then feels a touch heavier….but we found we soon forgot about the slight additional weight.
RIGGING
Rigs on a 340cm RDM mast and the compact rigs 60cm mast extender, with 31cm mast extension, and a 171-176cm boom.
There is no problem whatsoever using a 2-piece 400cm RDM mast in the sail, and leaving the battens assembled when derigged…point is, you don’t have to use the compact features all of the time from this sail.
CONDITION
Sail is in very very clean condition overall. It has one harness spreader bar mark in the foot and a few typical rigging marks, but is very very clean.
A sail bag is provided with the sail…just it is not pictured.
