The Black Project Surge SUP paddle is designed for the rider that is serious about SUP surfing performance.
There is a lot of paddle movement and switching during SUP surfing, both when paddling and riding. The lighter and easier the paddle is to let riders adjust quickly, the better. This is what the Surge is designed for. Black Project have literally removed the drawback of having a paddle out in the surf, to let you focus on enhancing the benefits of SUP surfing.
You don’t need to be an advanced wave rider to use this paddle…you just need to want to catch every wave and surf them to the best of your ability!
DESIGN THINKING ON THE SURGE SUP PADDLE
A smaller blade with tons of acceleration and power is the ideal
A thinner shaft reduces weight, increases strength, is easier to swing and to hold on to.
The dihedral style shaping of the blade features a pronounced centre ridge that is scooped out towards the rails. This delivers power, but also stabilises the stroke no matter what angle the blade is inserted into the water at. End result is you get a boost of speed.
